Terms

What we take on, what it costs, and how a visit gets booked and moved. In plain words, because you should be able to read it.

Who these cover

Saltbox Home Maintenance is a home maintenance business in Las Vegas, Nevada. These terms cover the work we do at your home and this website. Asking us for a visit or taking a plan means you accept them.

The work we take on

Saltbox Home Maintenance is not a licensed contractor. We do routine upkeep, small repairs and handyman work, and nothing that needs a building permit. Plumbing, electrical, HVAC and gas work go to a licensed trade — we’ll tell you when a job needs one.

If a job turns out to need a permit or a licensed trade, we stop. We photograph what we found, tell you what we saw, and give you the name of a licensed plumber, HVAC technician or electrician. We do not attempt that work ourselves, and we do not charge you for finding it.

We work on what you ask us to work on. If we find something else while we are there, we tell you and let you decide.

Prices, quotes and parts

Our prices are published on this site — on the homepage, on Autopilot plans and on Lease a Handyperson — and the FAQ spells out how the hourly work, the visit minimum and the parts fee are charged. We quote before we start. A price we have agreed for a visit does not change afterwards because the job took us longer than we thought.

You supply the parts, or we buy and deliver them for the fee set out in the FAQ and hand you the receipt. Anything left over stays at your home. Autopilot is the one product where the parts are in the price. Parts carry whatever warranty their manufacturer gives them, whoever bought them.

Published prices can change. A change never applies to work already agreed, and if you are on a plan we tell you before it affects what you pay.

Booking a visit, and moving one

We call or text within one business day, Monday to Saturday. Nothing is booked or charged when you send a request — we agree the time first. We call the day before a visit, and again when we are on the way.

If you need to move or cancel a visit, call or text as early as you can. Visits are planned into routes, so an hour of notice is worth more here than it would be elsewhere. If we arrive and cannot get in, we call you and find another day.

Paying

Work bought by the hour is paid when it is finished, by card or a payment link, with a note of what was done. Plans are billed by our payment processor. We never see or store your card number.

Autopilot plans and hourly work are not contracts: cancel with a phone call at any time. Lease a Handyperson is the one exception and says so everywhere it is sold — a twelve-month term, billed monthly, one household per plan, with credits that do not roll into the next term.

If you have paid for a year up front and stop partway through, call us and we will settle it fairly. A promotion runs until the date printed on its own page, and its terms are on that page.

If something goes wrong

We are insured and bonded. If we damage something, tell us and we will make it right — the sooner you tell us, the easier that is for both of us. If a visit was not what you asked for, call and say so and we will come back.

We do our work with reasonable skill and care. We are not responsible for faults that were already there, for ordinary wear and tear, or for what a part does after it is fitted beyond the warranty its manufacturer gives it.

Reviews

If you leave a review on the reviews page, you are asking us to publish it, which is why the form will not send without the box ticked. We publish what you wrote, we do not edit it to improve it, and we do not hide the low ones. Ask us and we take yours down.

This website

The words and the photographs here are ours, and the photographs are of real work at real homes. Please do not reuse them as your own. We keep the site accurate and it is still possible for something on it to be wrong or out of date; if you spot one, tell us, and nothing on a web page overrides what we agreed with you directly.

Limits

Nothing in these terms takes away a right you have under Nevada law, and nothing here limits our responsibility for injury caused by our own negligence. Beyond that, what we owe you for a job that goes wrong is to put it right, or to refund what you paid us for it.

Nevada law

These terms are governed by the law of the State of Nevada. We are a Las Vegas business working in Clark County, and any dispute belongs in the courts there.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. The terms that apply to your work are the ones published when we agreed it.
